Transition/Vocational Coach (3 openings)
Middle and East TN Starting September 1
Part Time 25-30 hours per week
East TN - Adult population
Middle TN - Middle and High Sch students
Time:
High School 7:30 am - 1:30 pm
Middle School 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
Postsecondary Institution- varies
Compensation - Commiserate with experience and education
Setting - Public schools, colleges and universities, Technical schools, Juvenile Detention, and Community
Description - Work in High Schools, Middle Schools, Summer Camps, Summer School, and Postsecondary institutions with students ages 14 - 22. Create and review Transition Plans for students. Work alongside Exceptional Educators, Administrators, Parents/families, and College Professors to support students and communicate needs and concerns. Attend IEP meetings, 504 meetings, parent conferences, professor/instructor meetings, and college disability resource department meetings. Must setup and attend job shadowing experiences with student(s); deliver 45-hour Transition Program to students in the k-12 setting or postsecondary institution; and make sure student interests are met through the program. Work with adults age 18 and up with finding and securing employment. Assist all students with finding internships, apprenticeships, and paid work. Work with a team to create Career and Job Fairs.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma with 7+ years experience working with individuals with disabilities including students identified as intellectually gifted.
Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred. Premium pay for candidates with current/active professional license with exceptional education or administrative endorsement.
Must have classroom experience OR 3 years or more with job coaching or job counseling. Must also have experience working with adults and students with disabilities and exceptional learning needs including students identified as intellectually gifted.

Associate I
(multiple openings in Shelby, Davidson, Hamilton, Sumner, Rutherford, Robertson, and Williamson counties)
Pay is based on adult client referrals. Associates create own schedule and this position is year round. Associates earn $25 per client referral. Must complete paid 4 hour training. Trainings are held weekly and on the weekend. Associates will receive KWA correspondence to refer clients. Associates have earned as much as 750 per month—-there is no cap on referrals. Ideal position for those looking to supplement income. Associates report directly to Executive Workforce Director.

High school diploma or GED and written documentation of two (2) successful years of experience in employment counseling, job placement, job coaching, or a public vocational rehabilitation program may substitute on a year for year basis for the required college education and experience. |
